Mathematical Modeling of Physical and Biological Processes II





Course Topics

  • Acoustics and wave phenomena
  • Principles of fluid mechanics including Euler and Navier-Stokes models
  • Fundamentals of elasticity and viscoelasticity
  • Structural models for rods and beams
  • Finite difference and finite element techniques for PDE models
  • Surrogate and data-driven models
  • Regression and Gaussian process models

Grade: Midterm and final exam (Monday, May 2, 1:00-4:00 pm): 40%; Projects (about 5 will be assigned and they can be done in groups of up to 3 students): 60%
